About

We'd rather make something small and good than include features you won't use

Mile End Media Limited is a London software company. We build tools for people who make things — streaming, thumbnails, football data — and we try to be straightforward about what they do, what they cost, and how they are made.

How we work

How this actually gets built

Four things that explain most of what you will notice about our products, for better and for worse.

  • A small team, moving quickly

We use best-in-class AI technologies to build robust products efficiently at low cost. Our products can be owned and supported by you or us. A product is not just a front end interface, each creation requires full end-to-end engineering and oversight by real humans. We do not do low quality vibe coding, we build robust products with appropriately costed cloud infrastructure behind them.

  • Tier-one infrastructure, not a hobby server

We will select the appropriate cost-efficient and performant back end cloud components, including but not exclusive to: Vercel, Google Cloud, Firebase, Firestore, Supabase, Bunny CDN, Cloudflare and more. We will recommend what we think is right for your use case.

  • Small tools that finish

Many products over-deliver on functions and you end up paying more for what you do NOT use than what you actually need. Our objective as seasoned content creators, is to build tools that only have what you need. We will update them only when the next required feature comes along, we will not update for the sake of it.

  • Eating our own dogfood!

We have built products to use ourselves in our own content creator life cycle. We use them and we trust them. We run a West Ham YouTube channel so we built FootyLens to avoid copyright strikes in sharing someone else's data. Our objective is to build tools that make high quality streaming much, much cheaper.

The name

Why Mile End

The founder grew up in Mile End, East London, so there is an emotional and historic link to this hard working community filled with decent, honest working class people. Regularly represented by its tube station, the Mile End Media logo is a take on the London Underground Roundel.
